  1. Escorts new patients to their rooms or assigns someone to escort new patients to their rooms.
  2. Ensures gift baskets, remotes, TV’s, Telephones, and clean room upon admission.
  3. Personally goes to every new admission and visits them every day for 6 days to,A) Discuss concerns. B) Give residents a sense of welcome.
  4. Personally calls the responsible party at the time of admission and every other day to discuss concerns.
  5.  Conducts an abbreviated QIS interview with each patient on day one (1), day seven (7) and if concerns are not satisfied at day fourteen (14).
  6. Oversees the front desk receptionists and their responsibilities; including TV, telephone and meal orders and corresponding payments and receipts.
  7. Receives and facilitates concerns and complaints for new admissions (defined as within six (6) days of admission).
  8. Receives and Facilitates special resident requests. (Example, food delivery orders.)
  9. Tracks the customer service checklist completed by administrative staff and delegated by the admissions staff.
This position will be able to:
¨       Answers incoming phone calls; takes messages and/or forwards calls to voice mail system.  Follows up with staff as appropriate.
¨       Greets all visitors and customers in a customer-oriented manner.
¨       Maintains the visitor’s sign-in log.
¨       Appropriately directs walk-in applicants.
¨       Collects employee meal money and appropriately notifies the Dietary Department.
¨       Collects telephone service fees and appropriately notifies the IT Department.
¨       Keeps front lobby and front desk area neat and clean.
¨       Ensures all copy/fax machines are in proper working order and fully stocked with paper.
¨       Has a copy of the current census to give resident room number and visitors direction.
¨       Takes private payments, bill payments, and tracks receipts and payments.
¨       Accepts resident issues/concern and facilitates accordingly.
¨       Monitors the elopement risk residents; has photos of all at risk residents at front desk (as directed by the nursing department) and monitors alarms.
¨       Greet all residents and guests upon entry and exit.
¨       Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
Position Requirements & Incumbent Profile
Minimum Required                                       Preferred/Desired
Education and Specialized Knowledge:  
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Geriatric Nurse Assistant in good standing
English Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
